so happy: Grown-Ups Girls Make Their Own Decisions.

Cutting the parental decision making cord is easy. After all, no girl wants to listen to her parents. On the flipside, going against an army of BFFs is not so easy. No one wants to be the one being judged at girl’s night. However, you are an adult and your choices impact your life. So, from now on, take what the girls have to say into consideration, but go with your gut.

so happy: You Get to Pick Your Friends, So be Picky (vol.I).

Energy-Suckers are the worst breed of friend. They come in multiple varieties. Some consume your world with their nonsensical drama. Others make you feel like you want to drown in their negativity. Calendar-Fillers are possibly the worst of the worst. They have no friends, as they are annoying and no one wants to hang out with them, so they fill your calendar weeks in advance. That way, no one can see you without said Calendar-Filler friend.

Regardless of the breed, just stay away from the Energy-Suckers. You have your own nonsensical drama to deal with, your own negativity to get you down and your own calendar to fill. Besides, you are the company you keep, so the last thing you want to do is to turn into an Energy-Sucker. Gross.

so skinny: Say No to Shots.

If the trashiness factor alone is not reason enough for you to stop taking shots, you should really consider the other major ramification of partying college style. Next time you’re out and about, consider the following scenario:

You’re sitting at your weekly ladies night sipping on a vodka soda. All is well in the Land of Party-Princesses. Fast-forward two hours. Like clockwork, one of your BFFs orders a round of Patron shots. The next thing you know, you’re that girl. From there, you hop in a cab. Suddenly you feel the urge to ask the cabbie to take you to the nearest drive-thru.  Finally after a grueling cab-ride, you make it home (fast-food in hand). You eat whatever you didn’t devour while in the cab and you pass out. The next morning and about 2000 calories later, you wake up with a wicked hangover. The only thing that is going to get you through the day is a shit-ton of carbs.  Repeat this for a couple weeks and the only thing you’ll be wearing to your next ladies night is a caftan. Had you said no to the shots, you’d probably be able to wear your J Brands.

The Truth.

You need me. You may not think you do, but at the end of the day, I am paying you a huge service. This year,  I turn thirty. Yes, that’s right, thirty. I know, you’re thinking to yourself, “What does it mean to me that this bitch is turning thirty?” Well, this is what it means---I am full of advice. That’s right, I am full of tons and tons of unsolicited advice. Stay tuned for a wealth of knowledge. Also, make sure you're not that person who hears the word ‘advice’ and goes out of her way to do the polar opposite. Just stop. You need this. This isn’t your mom’s advice. This isn’t your best friends advice. This isn’t your therapist’s advice. This is the truth.

So skinny. So rich. So happy.
