Hormone secretion can be stimulated and inhibited by

By Jake Alexandre

Hormones are chemical messengers produced by one part of the body to tell cells in another part of the body how to function, when to grow, when to divide, and when to die. They regulate many functions, including growth, sex drive, hunger, thirst, digestion, metabolism, fat burning and storage, blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and reproduction. The hormonal imbalance causes fatness, menstrual problems, abdominal weight gain, and perhaps increased risk of breast cancer and tumors. Some other symptoms are depression, intense exhaustion and tiredness, allergies, endometriosis, hair loss and sometimes facial hair growth. When hormones level fluctuates it causes mood swings. Hormonal imbalance causes acne as well. Women experience hormonal imbalance due to use of alcohol, drugs and medicines. Cosmetics' use with high chemical content is another main reason.

If there is deficiency of some hormone or in case of imbalance, hormones are artificially provided to the person or at times we replace the hormones. The purpose of replacement I also called hormonal therapy or hormone treatment is to add, block, or remove hormones. Usually Hormonal unevenness is the cause for the physical and emotional experiences associated with menopause and this hormone replacement is useful in that case but now a day's other hormones such as testosterone or estrogen are replaced by therapies too. It's important to know that hormonal therapy is not hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

These types of hormonal replacements are being used for the treatment of hormone imbalances by lowering the amount of that particular hormone in the body or by blocking the action of those hormones. It is a whole body's synthetic treatment. There are different kinds of therapies as well such as Estrogen Replacement Therapy Progesterone Replacement Therapy Melatonin Replacement Therapy Growth Hormone Replacement Therapy Therapies for menopausal side effects Therapies for low testosterone Therapies for Thyroid. Melatonin hormone is responsible for the fluctuations of hormonal levels of the body during different day parts and thus controls the functions of body. 3mg of melatonin is taken daily.

Natural estrogens are preferred to minimize the side effects. these hormone therapies are applied either by injections oral drugs pellets, pathes, gels , etc.specifically estrogen and progesterone replacement therapies are for women who have dysfunction in ovaries or either have removed the ovaries.

Hormone replacement is responsible for functions of hormone level and it controls the functions of body. These therapies can have side effects as well. The risk of getting each side effect depends on which treatment you are having and how long you take it for. Which can be either hot flashes or flushes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances, facial hairs growth and many others, Hormone replacement is not gender specific instead it is beneficial to both men and women. As with age the hormones in human body start declining and hence need replacement so this procedure is all about this hormonal substitute.
