Tulsa Chiropractors Help Manage Neck Pain

By Nate Kono

For those of us living with a pain in the neck due to degenerative joint disease, arthritis, spinal stenosis, or any other malady associated with the above, there is hope. Chronic neck pain sufferers have been dealt a bad hand, but with a few alterations in their daily pans, those that have pains in the neck can lead a much more pain free life.

I've been a chronic neck pain sufferer for almost 20 years now and for the most part lead a pretty regular life. My illness is definitely progressing, and as the years go on a growing number of adaptations need to be made to make up for the new or elevated pain or irritation which is the result, but at the conclusion of the day I find it controllable.

One of the important things I have figured out over the years is that my neck takes pleasure in h2o. The squished discs simply just seem to come to life whenever I place down the caffeinated drinks for a few days, at a minimum minimize my daily consumption, and supplement with h2o. The pain relief is amazing.

H2o is great, but without having a very good night's sleep there usually is absolutely nothing which can be done, at least in my case, to diminish the pain the day after.

Some kind of therapy including strengthening and range of motion exercises, traction, needs to be accomplished multiple times a week. The key with therapy is to strengthen the muscles and ligaments that support the cervical vertebrae. You can locate helpful suggestions on the Internet, however I firmly believe that you ought to search for a specialist. I have seen a lot of health professionals over time, and have achieved positive results from a chiropractor and physical therapist, both who focused on the neck.

Ibuprofen is my go to med of preference. I have tried everything from Aspirin, Celebrex, Tylenol, Naproxen, etc., but absolutely nothing reduces the discomfort more than 800mg of Ibuprofen

Injections are a very common quick fix for neck arthritis sufferers. Common injections include epidural steroid, trigger point, and sarapin. All offer relatively short relief and can be quite costly, even with insurance. I've tried them all and none have been worth the money. That's my opinion anyway.

So there's a few tips for you beginners out there that have just been diagnosed with Neck Arthritis. Nothing ground-breaking. Just try and get plenty of sleep, consume your h2o, complete your exercise sessions, and stock up on the NSAIDs.
