In the world of pre-responsibility, hangovers were just another part of your day. You didn’t particularly enjoy them, but you managed. You could wake up in the afternoon, order some [insert hangover food of choice] and rest-up for the next round. Fast-forward a couple years and one bad hangover could ruin your entire week. It’s debatable whether the mid-week hangover is worse than the weekend hangover. With the mid-week hangover comes drudging through the work-day on fumes alone, with that ‘should I just make myself throw up’ question hanging over your head all day long, just dreaming of the minute you can get yourself home for some DVR’d Real Housewives and Chinese food. On the flipside, the weekend hangover allows you plenty of time for rest, but you’ll probably miss out on fun activities (unless it gets you out of that 9 a.m. yoga class you committed to on Monday). Really, you could run around in circles trying to figure out which is worse. Regardless, save yourself some misery and try not to be such a boozer.
Next time you’re out and about, switch to water about an hour before its time to head home. You’ll save yourself from extra calories, potential embarrassment, a drive-thru mishap and most importantly a gnarly hangover that makes you hate your job and co-workers quite possibly more than you already do.
So skinny. So rich. So happy.
